SwissFiler ("we", "us", "the app") is a document scanning and management app developed by Majd Al Kaid, based in Switzerland. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Your scanned documents and extracted data are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. By default, no document data leaves your device.
If you enable cloud backup, your documents are uploaded to our Supabase storage instance hosted on a server located in Geneva, Switzerland (Infomaniak). Backups are tied to your authenticated account and are not shared with third parties.
Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device:
No images are sent to external servers for OCR.
After OCR, the extracted text (not the original image) may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API to structure the data (e.g. extract sender, amount, due date). Anthropic's API does not use this data for training. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details.
We offer sign-in via email, Google, or Apple. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth hosted on our Swiss server. We store only the minimal profile information needed for your account (email address, user ID).
SwissFiler does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. We do not collect usage analytics or behavioural data.
We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties, except as described in Section 4 (AI text extraction via Anthropic's API).
You can delete any document at any time from within the app. If you delete your account, all associated cloud backup data is permanently removed from our servers.
SwissFiler is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
